REPLACEMENT HEADS

Which Sonicare brush heads fit?

Check click-on, screw-on and Philips One fittings—and the model-specific details that matter.

Most Sonicare rechargeable brushes use click-on heads, but older models and Philips One need a separate check. Find the identifier on your handle and confirm its refill system before comparing packs.

Three fitting systems

SystemWhat to checkWatch for
Standard click-onCheck the handle against Philips’ compatibility table.Common does not mean every Philips handle.
Older screw-onUse the exact older model’s support and parts information.A click-on head is not a screw-on replacement.
Philips OneLook for the dedicated Philips One head family.Standard Sonicare click-on wording does not establish fit.

Philips lists the main fitting systems: standard click-on heads, older screw-on designs, and dedicated heads for Philips One and Philips One for Kids.

Find the model, then the parts

Photograph the identifier on the bottom of the handle so you can read the small print. Philips notes that a final letter may vary with color. Use the handle identifier when looking up parts.

Find the matching Philips product or support page. Check the brush-head system and accessories list against the refill you’ve selected. Ask support if the information conflicts.

Check older Essence models carefully

Check Essence models carefully. Philips includes older Essence and Xtreme brushes in its screw-on guidance, but the official Essence+ HX3211/13 page lists click-on accessories. The general support page groups some Essence/Essence+ entries under screw-on.

Use the model-specific manual or ask Philips to confirm the fitting when its pages disagree. Record the identifier of your existing head too. The name “Essence+” alone is not enough.

Check smart features separately

Check smart features separately from physical fit. Philips’ C3 specifications limit BrushSync mode pairing to BrushSync-enabled handles. An older handle will not gain that feature simply because the head fits.

Before paying extra for a smart feature, confirm that your handle supports it.

A refill buying checklist

  • Exact handle identifier recorded.
  • Attachment system confirmed using manufacturer information.
  • Selected variant matches that system.
  • Head size and softness suit the intended user.
  • Pack count is clear and the cost is compared per usable head.
  • Any smart-feature claim is checked against the handle’s capabilities.
  • The seller’s return terms are clear if the package arrives incorrectly labeled.

Quick answers

Will a Philips One head fit a normal Sonicare handle?

Philips One uses its own head system. Choose heads listed for that system.

Can I adapt a screw-on head to a click-on handle?

Use the specified fitting. Don’t force or modify a head to fit another attachment system.

Should I replace an older handle because refills are harder to find?

Compare refill availability with the full cost of a replacement brush. A newer system may make refills easier to buy, but first check whether reliable heads are still available for your current handle.
